IV. BOARD APPROVES CHANGE IN LEAN HOG RULES TO COMPLY WITH USDA PRICE REPORTS

At its Regular Meeting on Wednesday, December 12, 2001, the Board of Directors approved an amendment to Lean Hog rules to reflect the title of the new USDA price report.

The USDA has stated that the price reports currently used for final settlement of Lean Hog futures will be eliminated after April 2002. Thereafter, final settlement for subsequent contract months must use data to be reported by the USDA in the "National Daily Base Lean Hog Carcass Slaughter Cost Report under Mandatory Price Reporting".
